The Family Partnership (TFP) will be hosting former PFLAG Twin Cities chapter support group meetings on the third Tuesday of each month, beginning January 21, 2020 from 6 – 7:30 p.m. at our 4123 E. Lake Street building in Minneapolis. The support group provides peer education and emotional support around challenges faced by transgender individuals and their families and friends.
The meetings are drop-in, with no need to sign up. For more information visit TSupportGroup.com or contact the moderator Wendy Peterson at info@tsupportgroup.com.
The PFLAG Twin Cities Minnesota chapter (PFLAG St. Paul/Minneapolis) is closing in December 2019, but other Minnesota chapters and the national PFLAG organization remain. PFLAG is the first and largest organization for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ+) people, their parents and families, and allies.
A TFP client (and former PFLAG support group member) approached our staff about hosting the meetings. At TFP, we strive to be a safe, accepting place for transgender individuals; and, we believe that families, no matter what their form, are the foundation of strong communities.
