April 16th, 2015 – MINNEAPOLIS –The Family Partnership has been selected by the University of St. Thomas as its recipient of the 2015 President’s Community Partner Award. The award was presented this afternoon during the Minnesota Campus Compacts’ annual Summit and Awards Ceremony at St. Catherine University in St. Paul.
“For the past 12 years, University of St. Thomas students in Dr. Lisa Waldner’s sociology classes have helped The Family Partnership analyze feedback from our community partners,” said John Till, The Family Partnership Senior Vice President of Program Strategy and Innovation. “Students have made the voices of our stakeholders visible, giving us invaluable insight into our impact on families and communities.
“Even more importantly, though their service, St. Thomas students have helped us learn that the impact we have on families and communities is equitable, and is experienced similarly by the people we serve, regardless of income and origins.”
The President’s Community Partner Award is presented annually to a community-based organization that has enhanced the quality of life in the community in meaningful and measurable ways, and has engaged in the development of sustained, reciprocal partnerships with the college or university, thus enriching educational as well as community outcomes.
