Associate Board

Purpose


To empower the next generation of changemakers by fostering community, leadership, and philanthropy in support of The Family Partnership’s work to disrupt generational poverty and trauma and build strong families in the Twin Cities.

2026 Associate Board Goals:

Raise $2,000 Annually Through Events and Peer to Peer Fundraising: Host 1 engaging fundraising event tailored for community members new to TFP. Participate in TFP’s Give to the Max peer-to-peer fundraiser in November. 

Expand Awareness: Introduce at least 200 people to TFP through social media, partnerships, and events. Host 1 fun and engaging awareness event tailored for young professionals new to TFP (e.g. brewery happy hour, winter trivia night, networking events). 

Develop Future Leaders: Provide opportunities to build leadership skills, learn more about board service, and strengthen resumes while becoming long-term advocates for equity and family well-being. 

Support Volunteer Engagement: Coordinate at least one hands-on service opportunity each year with TFP programs. 

Serve as TFP Ambassadors: Equip members to promote and represent The Family Partnership through storytelling and community outreach. 

Board Structure:

Size: 5 members in 2026, grow to 10 members in 2027 
Term Length: 1 year, renewable 
Rolling applications to maintain continuity 

Membership Expectations:

  • Attend at least 8 of 10 of monthly meetings each year (we’ll take July and December off from meeting). 
  • Participate in at least one event in 2026 (fall), one in 2027 (spring/summer) 
  • Participate in TFP’s Give to the Max campaign by creating peer-to-peer page 
  • Contribute an amount that is personally meaningfully to you 
  • Serve as active ambassadors for TFP
