Sex trafficking has been an on-going issue for countless of years. Numerous organizations and community groups have been fighting this issue from grassroots campaigns to policy and law changes such as the passing of Safe Harbor. With all these organizations and community members fighting for this issue you might ask where can I make my personal impact on the prevention of sex trafficking? Well, hopefully, Chris Davies can spark some innovative ideas.
Chris was instilled with values from his parents that mandated all people, including women and children, were to be valued and not objectified. In his college years, Chris volunteered for a rape crisis hotline and for a family shelter that assisted women leaving abusive and exploitive situations. It was during these years that Chris learned more about the impact of sex trafficking and he developed a keen awareness of its detriment to humanity.
In 2002, Chris picked up a guitar and decided to put his words and his passions into music. His songs find their roots in the everyday hopes, dreams, struggles, and triumphs of the human experience. Chris’ influences as a young adult played a big part in the inspiration for his new single “Hollywood”. This is the story of a young woman who travels to Hollywood with a dream of being a star only to find herself in the grips of sex trafficking. In the end, she has the resolve to go back home with a new dream, to be with someone who cares. Chris has decided to use this song to raise both awareness and funding towards the fight against human and sex trafficking. Therefore, starting on December 2nd on all major online stores for .99 cents you are able to buy Chris new single “Hollywood” and 50% of every sale will go to The Family Partnership’s PRIDE program to help their efforts in the prevention of sex trafficking.
